Independent dairy specialists, Kingshay have been presented with the RABDF Prince Philip Award 2006 by His Royal Highness at Buckingham Palace . The honour was made to the company for the most practical, relevant and best presented technical exhibit at this year's Dairy Event. The judges made their decision on the company's newly launched web site www.kingshay.com which provides farmer members direct access to fifteen years of practical, unbiased results. “We are delighted and honoured to receive this top award,” explains Kingshay's managing director, Duncan Forbes. “Farmers can use the website when they need it to get independent answers for their business – whatever time of day or night.” The new website was developed from Kingshay's farm scale, muddy boot research and is constantly updated with the latest results and research from the company's practical, on-farm trials. The site also links to the Kingshay Dairy Manager website where producers can enter their herd performance on-line and benchmark against other progressive herds. A Certificate of Merit was also made to Quill Productions, of Dorchester who launched at the event, Hoof-Fit, a series of treatments formulated by Dutch scientists to counteract digital dermatitis. RABDF's chief executive, Nick Everington says: “As organisers of the Dairy Event, we are focused on communicating to farmers the benefits of best practice and technology transfer which will help towards improving their herd's overall efficiency. We are pleased to reward those exhibitors who excel in technical innovation and presentation, and Kingshay's website proved to be an excellent example.” He adds: “RABDF will once again be staging the award at the Dairy Event 2007 and we look forward to another set of high calibre entries.” |
