RABDF NMR Gold Cup Open Day 2011

More than 750 visitors attended our annual RABDF NMR Gold Cup open day this year hosted by the current holders, Michael and Chris King, at Iron Acton, Bristol. They were able to find out more about the brothers’ 320 cow Kingspool pedigree Holstein herd which has expanded from 47 cows over a number of years. They attributed the feat to maximising the opportunities as they came along and a passion for working with good cows within a dedicated team approach while embracing new technical ideas. At the same time they have focused on maintaining herd health and yield. The herd is currently averaging 9,605 litres, replacement rate is a commendable 15%, while clinical lameness is running at less than 2%.
