The Dairy Event and Livestock Show; Re-launched event provides favourable business environment

22 September 2008

The Dairy Event and Livestock Show, the livestock sector’s premier business to business industry event, was hailed as a major success by its organisers, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers.

The re-launched event which attracted more than 460 exhibitors, up 15% on the previous event, focused on offering a comprehensive range of technical, business and financial information for the entire UK ruminant sector - dairy, beef, sheep and commercial goats. Practical working demonstrations proved to be as popular as ever, along with the Farm Health Planning presentations designed to encourage all livestock farmers to adopt preventative approaches.

“We were thoroughly pleased by the industry’s response to our re-launched Dairy Event and Livestock Show which according to exhibitors attracted an unprecedented quality audience. Visitors were keen to do business and paid particular interest to the features which were designed to enable cost saving and improved efficiency,” commented RABDF chief executive, Nick Everington. “Our new formula designed to connect the food chain and offer a one-stop service for all livestock farmers proved to be favourable and one which we intend to build on in future years.”

HSBC’s head of agriculture, Pat Tomlinson said: "Once again this event has lived up to its high reputation, with an ever increasing appetite from those attending to catch up on all that is new in the UK dairy supply chain and to share thoughts and debate about current and future prospects for the sector. As principal sponsor it is a great way for us to show our commitment to UK dairy and livestock farming, to catch up with our customers and their advisers and hopefully to attract more farming customers to HSBC Bank. Well done to the RABDF team for putting on such a vibrant and successful show."
