RABDF welcomes government decision for badger cull
21 May 2010
The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers has wholeheartedly welcomed the government’s announcement confirming its commitment to implementing a badger cull to control the spread of TB among cattle.
“The news is of great relief to thousands of farmers whose livelihoods have been hugely affected by the impact of TB and also to those who live in fear of their herd becoming infected,” says RABDF chairman, David Cotton. “We trust that government’s approach to the cull will not only be scientifically based, but will also take on board lessons learned from similar measures adopted to eradicate TB in other countries as well as previous experience in the UK. We need to get this cull right, and that means right from the start.”
