RABDF welcomes High Court badger cull decision
16 April 2010
The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers has wholeheartedly welcomed the High Court’s decision to give the go ahead to a badger cull in Wales as part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s TB eradication campaign.
“We are delighted that the judge rejected the Badger Trust’s claims that the cull had no scientific basis,” says RABDF chairman, David Cotton. “Following all the hard work carried out by the Welsh Assembly Government and its chief veterinary officer, Prof Christianne Glossop in to building a comprehensive, collaborative TB eradication strategy, we are now looking forward to some serious action which we trust the English government will be able to learn from to develop its own positive strategy. This means cleaning up the endemic disease in both cattle and wildlife populations.”
