Robotic Milking - is it for you?

The Robinson Family, Mawley Town Farm, Kidderminster invite you to visit their farm and view their working robotic milking parlour on Tuesday 14th July 2009.

Mawley Town Farm is a diverse family-run business that produces high quality milk and cream for the local community. Currently milking 230 with plans to expand to 300, the farm installed 4 robotic milking last November.

Animal welfare and farming practices are of the highest standard. The Robinson’s believe they have achieved a happy medium between organic and intensive farming. The robots allow more time to be spent on animal welfare whilst providing the cows with a stress free environment in which they choose when to be milked.

The day will provide answers to many of the questions farmers have about robotic milking. Starting at 11.00am a selection of speakers will share their knowledge so you can decide whether robotic milking is is for you today or in the future

Programme
Introduction - Adrian Robinson
Robotic Milking - The Future - John Baines, Fullwood Milking and Cooling.

Farm Open Days/Farm Walks

The RABDF Farm Open Days and Walks have proven to be a popular diary date for our members. Host farms are selected to highlight specific management techniques which have proven successful and may be of benefit to other producers. We also ensure the farms visited cover a range of breeds and species.

Held throughout the country, these open days give visitors the opportunity to view the farm as well as speak to suppliers, which much like Dairy Event and Livestock Show provides an ideal forum for information exchange. Previous open days have included visits to Gold Cup winning farms.

Watch the events section for up and coming Farm Open Days and Farm Walks.
