WHO WE ARE

We believe every UK dairy farmer has the right to a profitable and rewarding future

ABOUT US

The RABDF was founded in 1876 as an independent organisation dedicated to the interests of dairy farmers, dairy produce and the UK dairy industry.

Today, its principles remain and it is now the UK's sole charity representing the views and needs of milk producers.

The RABDF works hard to ensure the industry's voice is heard through its strong relationships across the whole supply chain, giving them a far-reaching impact. Their joint secretariat of the Dairy All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) with Dairy UK and royal warrant enables them to influence and lobby government and policymakers.

WHAT WE DO

The RABDF is funded by its membership of dairy farmers, industry personnel and corporate membership. Its activities span every aspect of the dairy industry, including:

  • Promoting the positive role of the UK dairy industry

  • Informing policy decisions by working with governments, industry organisations and members

  • Communicating with members on essential sector issues

  • Providing best practice advice, latest news and technical know-how

  • Organising a range of grassroots events, including the dairy industry's flagship event, Dairy-Tech, the RABDF NMR Gold Cup and the Down to Earth regenerative farming events

  • Supporting the next generation of dairy farmers through its Entrepreneurs in Dairying initiative, extensive awards programme in colleges and universities and dedicated young membership offers

  • Active involvement in cross-industry groups, covering animal health and welfare, trade, disease control and production.

  • Supporting members with a range of activities, such as labour and Women in Dairy Initiatives

  • Influence consumer opinion by signposting the public and press to reliable sources of information on dairy

  • Provide bespoke industry training

RABDF was registered as a charity at a very early stage and was appropriately based at offices in London, where the Dairy Show was held for almost 100 years at Olympia... read more
