Position:  Membership Events Assistant
Location: RABDF Office (Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire), with home-working
Reports To: Events & Membership Lead
Salary: c.£32,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent, 35 hours a week (Part-time considered)

  • The Membership Events Assistant will support the delivery of high-quality, farmer focused events that help drive our membership, and enhance our representation.  This role involves assisting in event planning and execution, coordinating logistics, and managing relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, and members.

    • Support the Events & Membership Lead in planning and delivering key events, including conferences, exhibitions, and networking sessions.

      • Key events include:

        • Women in Dairy (September conference & regional events)

          • Entrepreneurs in Dairy (Autumn/Winter 3-month programme)

          • Gold Cup (summer farm walk)

          • RABDF Awards

          • New and one-off events to promote our voice, lobbying and representation.

      • Lead the administration and coordination of awards, ensuring applications, judging, and presentations are well-managed.

      • Coordinate event logistics: venue bookings, catering, equipment hire, and travel arrangements.

      • Manage event registrations, attendee bookings, and on-site coordination.

      • Act as a primary contact for exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and delegates.

      • Assist in the development of sponsorship packages, securing funding and partnerships.

      • Research and identify opportunities to enhance events and grow attendance.

      • Support membership growth by assisting with recruitment, retention, and engagement activities.

      • Coordinate member communications to promote events.

      • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth event delivery.

      • Represent the charity at relevant industry events and meetings to enhance visibility and stakeholder engagement.

      • Assist with the management of event finances, placing orders, and input to budgets.

      • Prepare event briefs and support with marketing materials.

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project planning and administration, event coordination, or a farmer membership support role.

    • Experience in a charity, non-profit, or membership organisation (desirable).

    • Strong administrative and organisational skills.

    • Experience managing relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and suppliers

    • Strong time management and organisational skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Degree or relevant qualification in Project Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field (desirable).

    • Full current UK driving licence (consideration will be given under the Equality Act 2010 where applicable).
