Defra have published guidance on new calf housing grants, which will be open for applications later this summer.

Dairy has been hitting the headlines once again as inflation and the cost-of-living crisis continue to grip consumers. Supermarkets have been cutting back milk prices to lure customers in. However, as retailers are cutting prices, the milk price farmers are receiving is also falling heavily. Unfortunately, this is while farm production costs remain stubbornly high. 

The RABDF has teamed up with organisers of the National Youngstock Conference to offer its members £5 off the standard ticket price.

Predicated milk price cuts will cause concern as volume peaks throughout the spring and summer. Time will only tell what happens to feed costs as harvest progresses later this year, but hopefully, we will see things ease.
