Perceptions and Risk Factors of Redwater in Cattle

My name is Harriet McFadzean and I am currently completing a Masters degree in One Health at the University of Edinburgh, alongside my role as a vet working for the Animal and Health Plant Agency. 

This research is part of my Masters to increase understanding on bovine babesiosis, a tick-borne disease of cattle which can have devastating effects on affected herds. This disease, also known as “redwater” is more common in certain areas of the UK. This survey has been designed to collect data to understand why this is the case, and how awareness of this disease can be increased across the farming industry. 

Who can participate? 

All cattle farmers are eligible to participate, regardless of whether they experience outbreaks of redwater on their farm.
